“Terror Revival Front” under orders from Pakistan Army

Sarpanch Ajay Pandita Killed the way Pak Army quells dissent in Pakistan

40-year-old Sarpanch, Ajay Pandita, was shot dead by unidentified terrorists in Anantnag district on Monday. The Resistance Front(TRF) which has recently, in the last six months,  jumped into the Potpourri of  Pakistan Army’s Terrorism pitch in Kashmir, claimed responsibility.

Old wine- new bottle

The Resistance Front, the brand-new terror group that has rushed to take responsibility for major terror attacks and firefights in Jammu and Kashmir over the past few weeks, is being controlled by three top handlers of the Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan, an intelligence report submitted to national security planners in New Delhi has said.

The Pakistan Army has for years, tried to give Kashmir terrorism a local face. There was a renewed attempt at this makeover in recent months. According to an assessment presented to national security planners in late April, the ISI had messaged the 100-odd foreign terrorists to lie low and let the local terrorists front the battle with security forces.

The establishment of the TRF comes as Pakistan’s deep state tries to give an impetus and indigenous face to terrorism in the Kashmir Valley. The security officials tracking the terror-related activities have also found that the TRF is backed by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and mainly aims at radicalization and recruitments for the Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Pakistan Army always wanted to disrupt normalcy in the Kashmir valley through its actions.

The exercise is designed to give terror in Kashmir an indigenous face to ward off international pressure, particularly from the anti-terror financing watchdog FATF, over Pakistan sponsoring Islamist terror groups and what New Delhi describes as its jihadi terror factories.

While the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the global watchdog for terror-funding, placed Pakistan in the ”grey list”, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested politicians and businessmen for terror-funding, declared JKLF a terror group and banned the Islamist radical group Jamaat-e-Islami as well.

With all such measures and the government revoking Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by nullifying Article 370 on August 5 last year, Pakistan lost ground and its hold in Kashmir dramatically. And hence, The TRF surfaced last year after Parliament’s decision. While it is amply clear that the ISI backed Lashkar-e-Taiba launched this front in the backdrop of pressure from the Financial Action Task Force, it also must be noted that the strategy of this group is different because of the manner in which it is structured. Going by the manner in which the group has been structured in Kashmir, it is clear that it wants to penetrate as deep as possible.

Pak Army’s nefarious plan

Ever since the Pakistan Army has realized that it has failed to internationalize the Kashmir issue, terrorism remains its only option to wound India. It is its best low-cost option despite India’s game-changing abrogation of article 370. Limited Pakistan-abetted terror attacks not only impose a disproportionate security burden on our armed forces, but India’s retaliatory action also gets constrained. The cost to Pakistan thus remains bearable.

One wonders whether Pakistan army has lost its bearings completely. They have no vision of peace, prosperity or harmony within the country and with the neighbors.

The Pakistan army has agreed to describing homegrown militant groups and internal dangers as the biggest threat to its country’s security and yet can’t stop focusing on the perceived danger from India. India had always been perceived as Pakistan’s arch-nemesis whereas they should be concentrating on internal issues and militancy on a priority. Pakistan’s preparations and weapons were always meant for India, trying to vitiate the atmosphere in India.

Viewpoint

Pakistan has been trying to destroy India since a long time and its common knowledge that their Army controls all the happening in Kashmir. At first, they tried it with war, and when that didn’t help, they tried with terrorism and bomb blasts. They have tried over the ages to unsuccessfully instigate a Hindu-Muslim divide, didn’t help, pump counterfeit currency to destabilize the economy, that didn’t work either. They fail to recognize the futility of their actions and fail to realize that all these resources used to destroy a country were put to a better use; today Pakistan could have come a long way.

Pakistan Army’s persistence in infiltrating terrorists, proliferating false propaganda is intended to disturb peace and its actions in fomenting trouble will always be met with a befitting reply.
