In a reply to a question from a Pakistani journalist whether India will agree for the dialogue with Pakistan, Indian envoy replied
“that there are normal ways of dealing but no democracy will acknowledge if you use terror to push your goals. Stop terror to start talks.”
In an another question from a senior Pakistani journalist as to “when will you begin a dialogue with Pakistan, ” Akbaruddin responded “so let me begin by coming across to you and shaking your hand, all three
of you,” and he shook hands with them, the gesture appreciated by everyone present there. He further said that “so let me tell you we have already extended our hand of friendship by saying we are committed to the Simla Agreement. Let us wait
for a response on that from the Pakistani side.
Syed Akbaruddin also said that the Indian government’s decision was
intended to promote good governance and development in Jammu and Kashmir. “India remains committed to ensure that the situation in J&K remains calm and peaceful,” he said.
“These have no external ramifications, the recent decisions taken by the Govt of India and our legislative bodies are intended to ensure that good governance is promoted, social-economic development
is enhanced for our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh,” he said.
Ever since abrogation of Article 370 and reorganisation of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) into Union Territory of J&K with legislature and Union
Territory of Ladakh, Pakistan could not recover from the jolt and find it hard to come to terms as to what has happened. Understandably so as the survival of Pakistan and more so its army is solely stand on anti India and obsession with Kashmir. Accordingly
it has stepped up rhetoric against India at every possible platform to gather support of international community. Pakistan has primed all its embassies across the world to mobilise the international opinion to exert pressure on India to roll back its decision
on J&K. Pakistan also trying its best to spread misinformation against India on social media platforms using doctored videos and content to reflect human right violations in Kashmir. Pakistan Prime Minister himself threatening world community of possible
nuclear war between India and Pakistan.
But fact remains that its Pakistan which is involved in gross human right violation in Baluchistan and sponsoring terrorism in Afghanistan and other parts of the world. Imran Khan himself, during his recent visit to US confessed of approximately 40000 terrorists operating in Pakistan.
Even US President Mr Donald Trump after speaking to Mr Modi, in a telephone conversation on August 19, 2019 asked Imran Khan to resolve the Kashmir issue bilaterally with India and reduce tension in the region.
Today, there is hardly any country to buy Pakistan’s narrative and it stands isolated at international level.
