It seems to be celebration time in the party camp of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, a proclaimed global terrorist, as his two organizations, the Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) and Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) have been let off the hook by the Pakistan Government. They no longer fall into the category of banned outfits.
The Pakistan government had banned JuD and FIF, in January this year, who was on the UNSC sanctions list for collecting donations from companies and individuals. Though the Pakistan govt denied that their this action is free from any pressure from America but it certainly came after President Donald Trump had accused Islamabad of giving nothing to the US but ‘lies and deceit’ and providing ‘safe haven’ to terrorists. It is also known to the world that the Trump, since the day he became US President, has been breathing down the neck of Pakistan to do something more visible to rein in these rogue outfits. So, banning of these organizations by the President of Pakistan was certainly not an indigenous initiative.
